GIF Cutter

Trim frames off the start and end of a GIF. The bright frames in the filmstrip are the ones that stay.

Trim the head and tail off a GIF

Screen recordings and reaction captures almost always have dead frames at both ends. Drag the two sliders until the bright part of the filmstrip covers exactly the moment you want; the kept frames keep their original timing, so the pacing of the moment is untouched.

Cut a GIF for a Steam showcase or profile

Steam artwork and profile showcases play best as short, tight loops. Cut the recording down to the single action you want to show off, then, if it is still over size, pass it through the GIF Resizer to bring the dimensions down too.

Cutter vs. cropper

The cutter works on time: it removes whole frames from the beginning and end. The cropper works on space: it keeps every frame but shrinks what each frame shows. Most over-long, over-wide GIFs want both — cut first, then crop.
