PNG to GIF Converter
Turn a stack of PNG images into one animated GIF — or convert an animated PNG (APNG) directly, timing preserved. No upload.
Frames play in the order shown. Remove one with the × on its corner.
Turn a PNG sequence into a GIF
Design tools and screen recorders export frames as numbered PNGs; drop them all here and they play as one GIF in the order shown. Set the frame delay (100 ms is snappy, 500 ms reads like a flip-book), pick the output size, and download. PNG's lossless pixels make this the cleanest possible source material — what you see in the frames is what lands in the GIF, minus the 256-color palette step.
Convert APNG to GIF
An animated PNG dropped on its own is detected and decoded frame by frame, with each frame's original timing carried into the GIF. This is the practical route when a tool exported APNG but the destination — an older app, a forum, a slide deck — only understands GIF. Decoding uses the browser's built-in decoder, available in current Chrome, Edge and Safari.
Transparency: what survives the conversion
PNG has smooth, 256-level alpha; GIF transparency is strictly on/off per pixel. Fully transparent regions (stickers, cutouts, logos) convert perfectly. Semi-transparent anti-aliased edges are quantized to the nearest state, which can leave a faint fringe on busy backgrounds — the classic GIF trade-off, identical in every converter. If the GIF will sit on a known background color, compositing onto that color first (in any editor) gives the cleanest edge.
