WebP to GIF Converter
Turn WebP images into GIFs that play absolutely everywhere — animated WebP converts with its frames and timing intact, no upload.
Frames play in the order shown. Remove one with the × on its corner.
Convert an animated WebP to GIF
Drop a single animated WebP and this converter decodes every frame with its original delay, then re-encodes the whole thing as a real animated GIF — frame count and pacing carry over exactly. Transparency survives too: semi-transparent pixels are flattened to GIF's on/off transparency, which is what every GIF tool does, but fully transparent regions stay transparent.
Animated WebP decoding uses your browser's built-in image decoder (Chrome, Edge and Safari 17+ have one). On an older browser the file falls back to its first frame — update the browser to get the full animation.
Convert WebP images to a GIF sequence
Drop several static WebP files and they become the frames of a new GIF, playing in the order shown with the frame delay you set. Mixed dimensions are fine — every image is fitted onto the shared canvas without cropping. This is the fast way to turn a folder of WebP screenshots or saved web images into one shareable animation.
Why convert WebP to GIF at all?
WebP is the better format technically — smaller files, smoother alpha — but support is still patchy where it matters: older Office versions, many forum and wiki embeds, some email clients, and a long tail of chat and CMS tools either reject WebP or show it as a still. GIF is the least common denominator that animates everywhere. If the result needs to fit a strict size limit afterwards, run it through the GIF Compressor or the GIF Resizer.
